Good Evening Everyone!

I am so happy that summer vacation is almost here. I am not a fan of the heat but I am a super fan of the no work ;) I love getting out of my rhythm and having a change in pace. I believe that it is quite necessary to keep your mind awake and to challenge yourself. I usually create a whole new schedule for the summer and I will make sure to follow it with incentives for the first week or so to make sure my body is able to easily handle the change in rhythm.

Also, The MMC is now offering Virtual Tours !!!!!! Call 248-851-9695 and book yours today.

As usual if you have any questions or comments, put them down below and we will answer them in our next post :) Bye!

Activities of the Week:

  1. Write a review of a movie you saw. Tell the basic idea and what you liked about it. What didn’t you like about it?

  2. Write letters to your friends and relatives.

  3. Be a book reviewer for Scholastic News. Pick a book that you've read recently and write a short summary (about 100 words). Introduce the main character and briefly describe the plot. Don't give away the ending! Explain why you liked the book and why you think other kids might enjoy reading it. Is it an important book? What is something interesting you learned from it? Is it funny, sad, happy, exciting, or a combination of these? When you are done, mail it to: Scholastic News, 557 Broadway 4th Floor, New York, NY 10012.

Hey Everybody! Your week should have been amazing and if it wasn't, that is all right because we all have off days sometimes. First off, I am sorry for not posting last week, I was trying to plan the measures that needed to be taken to implement in The MMC for this summer and next year. This week we will be talking about summer plans. I personally am occupied with so many courses and setting up the school that I know I will most likely not have time to breathe. But, with that being said, I will make sure to take at least a total of two weeks off somewhere in the summer so that I can focus on myself and bring back my motivation to work and prevent burning out. I think everyone should take some time to themselves this summer, it doesn't have to be exactly two weeks, it can be longer or shorter, depending on your life but still taking that time will help you refresh your mind and hopefully look at your life in a new perspective which will almost always be beneficial.

Activities of the Week:

  1. Write a story that starts like this: “It had been raining for an hour when…”

  2. Create your own cartoon/comic

  3. Cut pieces of paper into strips and staple the two short ends and interlock them to make a chain. On each strip, write one thing you are grateful for every day.

Good Morning Everyone!

Only 22 days left of school and then it's SUMMER VACATION!!! Hooray :) Hopefully by then our quarantine restrictions will be a little looser and we can get out of the house while still keeping people safe.

I know staying in quarantine is hard on the kids and even though they have schoolwork it doesn't take up the whole day. Personally, I have learned that virtual school becomes more difficult if you don't have a routine, and if you don't have any fun.

Activities for the Week

  1. Interview an adult using 4 questions. Ask them: “Where did you live as a child?” “What school did you go to?” “What was your favorite food?” “What sports/activities did you do?” Draw a picture of this adult when they were little.

  2. Pick a country or city you’ve never been to before. Research the landmarks, geography, and culture of the area.

  3. May is “National Photograph Month.” Work with a member of your family to put together a family collage using your favorite photographs. Be creative!
