The Montessori method towards Arts and Crafts focuses on the process where the child is allowed to bring out their inner essence in a visually appealing learning space. We know that children are born naturally inclined to art, and our job is to nurture that desire. The Arts & Crafts materials instill a sense of self-achievement, exploration, and pride, hence boosting their self-confidence.
Intending to nurture their desire of creating art, there are no crafts or step-by-step art projects in a Montessori environment. More often than not, an art project is integrated into another area of the classroom such as language, with storytelling, history, visual representations of time, math, with beadwork, and geography, through tracing & coloring maps.
